I was wondering if anyone has had any luck finding anything on Fortune Crawford before her marriage to Charles. I couldnt find her baptism at Berwick and there is nothing on the IGI which might give us a lead so any ideas anyone ? ? ?
Never give up! they say.. i have added a Conway Mace married to Lucy as Charles parents, as at the time of researching this issue, this pair dawned on me and seem to fit in. 
the saga will continue and i have found more cousins (New Zealand) reaching for the top of the tree. There was a mention of the Bedale Mace's. One branch i researched came from our Berwick-on-Tweed ancestors - those of John Mace (4 Jan 1801 - 14 Aug 1857) and Jane Dobby (31 Mar 1800 - 31 May 1870). John being the son of Thomas Mace (1773 - ?) and Ann (1769 - ?), and Thomas is the son of Francis. Please let me know if you are in agreement. My email adress is derektrowswell@gmail.com
