I'm looking for the birth of William Mace 1844 in France La Ciotat. His father was Charles Mace ( but which Charles?) On his marriage cert it says he was an engineer from Sunderland. I only know of one Charles Mace, engineer in Sunderland but can't find any proof of him being William's father.William married Jane E Sharpe, also born in France, Marseilles. Both William and Jane were British citizens due to parentage. I have them in the 1881,1891, 1901and the 1911 census. Is there anyone out there descended from them? They had three sons: Charles, George and William.
